My fantasy timer works a little like a calendar program where you can drag either end of a segment to change the start/stop time. I would allow for the changing of the start time to move the prior entry’s end time. (This would make it easier to see gaps in your day, too.) For now I just add a note on the entry and manually adjust when I’m reviewing before submitting my time..
Agreed on graphical interface: “What was I doing last Wednesday from 2:33 to 3:47? Oh, I had started that next task but hadn’t started the timer. I’ll just drag the start handle of that task up to the end of the previous task.” Or: “That bar for Task A is huge. There’s no way I spent that much time on it. Oh, again, I forgot to start the timer on Task B until an hour into it. I’ll just grab the handle between the tasks to shrink A and grow B.”
It could get fancier, like snapping to increments (five minutes, fifteen, etc.), allowing overlapping, rearranging (I’ll sometimes add a task from the timer at the end of the day with a note that I did the work that morning, then go back and edit it later), etc.
Even though the main draw of Slimtimer is its simplicity, I don’t think this would make it any more difficult to use. Or, it could be an add-on?
